YTD in Luck

I don't need me no fancy program to tell that I am running hot in credit card roulette. I do however need this nifty program to tell me exactly just how lucky I have been running in poker on the year. I am not sure how I feel about being 'due' to be unlucky. Check it out:

I Love Morphine

(professional recreation)
Last night I had to go to the ER. I woke up in the middle of the night with nearly unbearable stomach pains; fortunately my mother answered her phone and took me to northside hospital. I feared I would have appendicitis and have to get surgery. Luckily I was only diagnosed with gastritis (similar to a peptic ulcer). With a little diet change and some prescription strength antacid I ought to be just fine.

Sanity by a Thread

I have been without the Internet for quite some time now. I apologize for the lack of posted that has resulted. I have much to talk about when I return home. My 2349023784902384 hour flight to ATL leaves early tomorrow morning.

BTW: The winners for the poll are "drop a few buy ins" if you only count tournament results and "cash for decent score" if you include my online poker for this trip. Thanks for voting! (return home bust? 20%?!?!? haters will be haters)

Busto

Nearly any other day of the year I would love nothing more than to come home and read heartfelt comments of encouragement on my blog, but tonight is an exception. I just busted out of the main event and feel like poop. I guess I just wanted it too much or tried too hard or just don't have what it takes, but it was a very forgetful effort. I feel like I continually let my friends, family and self down. I want to make it to a televised final table so badly. The dream of coming home with a million is dead. I hate my job.

Running Hot

I won my seat into the main event today in a 1k satellite. I play tomorrow (Day 1A) and I am trying to keep the dream of the big score alive.

Congratulations Mr. GraveWolf for guessing TJ - Your superior logistical skills will greatly rewarded with the sexiest I Hate My Job give out ever!

Long Runway, Short Flight

...

Well this give away idea started off great - tons of funny speculations, smart ass comments, and I was appropriately entertained. Now this is just absurd. Nonetheless I will stick with it (I swear I am not screwing with y'all/just a rather unlucky string of guesses... it's not like our hands shared any cards)

Well I completely agree with heath. I am bit dissappointed that people still don't understand that I wouldn't post this if it was a good hand/play. My World Has Been Turned Upside Down

I have finally gotten my act together in credit card roulette. I even managed a side bet last night that allowed me to free roll in tonights dinner, which my card got pulled to pay for {when you know you are due it's key to look for a good angleshoot}. I am now 0/6 in having to pay for meals this trip (mostly 3 and 4 handed averaging just over $100).

Super Fun Game Time

Hint #2: He didn't have a 9 or a 3.

Lovin' Melbourne

Everyday is a pleasure when you are surrounded with good people, the weather is sexy, and all you do is play poker/partake in various gambling. Aussie Million is shaping up to be a top notch experience. I have only played one tournament so far and it didn't go all that well...

Pot Limit Hold'em - 1100 buy in (4k starting chips)

Blinds: 25/25
Two people limp in middle position and the CO pots it for 150. The button calls and I look down at QQ in the sb. Usually standard squeeze, but I didn't like the timing of it. Sometimes I change it up when the gut says so and I just decide to smooth call. Limpers come along and the flop is 239r. Checks around to pre flop raiser who bets pot (775) quickly. Btn folds and I decide to think for 30 sec and call. We go heads up to turn, which is a ten. I check and he quickly bets pot (2325) again. I felt he might check behind with AA KK here for pot control (sure looks like i flopped a set). I tanked for a minute, didn't love my spot, but felt like I was good and called (forgot to put him in, he had 200 chips behind). I bet river dark (was a brick) and he calls and mucks. I am up to like 9k after this.

Less than three hours in I build up to 13k with a few hands and few well times plays than this came up...

Blinds: 75/150
I pick up QQ UTG and raise to 400. The big blind says, "stealing my blind again for the sixth time in a row!" [this statement was rather accurate] It folds around to the button {a younger Swedish/poker stars looking kid} who raises to 1400. Blinds fold and I think for a bit, ask for a count (3950 more behind), sense some physical weakness, and put him in. He responds, "you have aces?" and calls somewhat quickly... crap! kings right? nope... TJs. Jack in the door - Jack on the turn.

Bled down to 6k and at 100/200 get stacked in a limped pot with 78 on a 78T flush draw board against the TJs kid who flopped the nuts.
