Lately whenever I gamble I feel like a 100/100 and everything else in my life feels like a max of 20/100. It is barely March and this is almost already my best year ever. I really like driving after having five or six beers. My condo building is suing me $100 for propping open the door. Cardigans are my new favorite article of clothing. Life is funny.

I have been on edge lately. Sometimes I get swallowed by these overwhelming negative emotions that seem to be unfathered. It isn't very hard for me to do a 180, but it usually has to be some sort of external force. To almost an unhealthy fashion I really do appreciate the little things. I love stretching my calf muscles. I love memorizing random numbers. I love falsely assuming something is a Freudian slip. I get pretty jealous when my friends do better than me in poker. It is absurdly relative. I can feel happy for them up until they make one dollar more than me. I would have sat 200/400 PLO today, but I was restricted from playing that high. I emailed them to let me play, but they wanted me to fax them ID so I gave up. I think my dog would be an excellent gambler if given the opportunity. For every 7 monkeys I get off my back, 8 more get on. I might be heading in the wrong direction. I used a pumice stone to scrub a stamp from a bar off of the back of my hand and it looked as if I had gotten a third degree burn on my skin when I was finished. I don't think I am a masochist. For every 8 wounds I get, 7 don't leave a scar.

Full Circle

I have the first half of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata down pat. I have always thought deep down that I was more of an intellectual than a jock, but as of late I've been exercising my body way more than my mind. A recent dabble with 25/50 PLO led to some of the wildest swings I have ever experienced (winning and losing around 30k a day). I eventually quit on an big upswing [I never thought I'd see that day] because, even though I was winning, it was just stressing me out too much. It doesn't make all that much sense when I write it down. The primary thought on my mind lately is the fear of dying without ever being a father. There are times over this year where I would have honestly put the odds at a 20:1 favorite and times where I would have honestly put the odds at a 20:1 dog of starting a family. The windows side of my computer got a virus today so I will be out of commission for about a week. I'd like to master the second half of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
