The Voyage of Discovery is Not in Seeking New Landscapes But in Having New Eyes

It's curious what exactly in our environment develops one's personality. Seems like all great man rise into well developed dispositions by means of emerging triumphantly from hardships. It is like in Little Miss Sunshine when Frank is consulting Dwayne and he reminds him of how Proust revered the years in which he suffered in his life the most as his best, for they made him the great writer into which he matured. Like my father once told me, "it's the toughest storms that make the best pilots."

-"We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us. "
-Marcel Proust
